Eschatology is a term that brings together the separate ideas of the bible. It is usually applied to the idea of the end of time. But it is much much more. It is nothing less than the Creator of the Universe breaking into the present. Eschatology is God breaking into human history and overwhelming it with himself. It brings together all the separate topics of Christian theology. It is usually either neglected or treated with a tremendous amount of speculative interest. As American's seek to find there place in a Post-9/11 world this topic is crucial. We need to understand how God has acted in history. We need to understand what Jesus said about the future and sometime more importantly what he did not say about the future. We need to remember God's involvement in history.
